you brought up 2 issues here...

1) Whether it is right to have capital punishment
2) What if there's evidence to prove that he was innocent after he is killed?  有殺錯無放過?

What if it's your son/daughter who was charged with murder but he/she was actually innocent?  How do you feel if he/she has to be put to death if there's no new evidence after a period of time?

If that happens to you or your family member, I don't think you can say "kill him/her" so easily, and you'll definitely say the system is flawed and unfair.

If you were the only witness to prove your family member who was innocent but the court couldn't weight heavily on a closely related person's testimony and gave the death sentence.  Then wouldn't you feel very helpless?

Too many what ifs...not very likely to happen but doesn't mean it won't.
