In HK, soccer used to be a very healthy sport game until soccer gambling is legalized. From then on, soccer is (could be) a gambling tool too. So, is playing soccer OK in church? Would there be peopl ...

I don't want to be off topic too far, but I'll answer this one.  Soccer so far is still not considered as a gambling game yet.  Plus the gambling happens externally for the most part.  People gamble on many things, do those all need to be reconsider for the church?  I don't think so...it's case by case...what's the history of gambling in MJ compared to soccer?  You can answer this one yourself.

How do you know I haven't done that?

Also, if there was no talks or debates, lots of Christians won't be Christians today.

Also, it talks about "love" specifically, and love can be in many forms.  You can pray for people and it's still considered as love, just one example.

Don't force me to eat dead cat again!  I have not even thought that I'm more 勁 than others.  I don't need a comparison.  Don't try to portray what I think.  A 10 year old can understand the basics of the Bible is less than a year.  I don't know why an average adult cannot in 9 years of studying the Bible.  I really wonder what he was reading!  The same verse in 9 years???

According to what you said, you are putting dead cat in my mouth too la.

Studied 9 years of  bible not equal I will be so into it that I will memorized them by heart.  I pointed out of 9 years, j ...

I put a dead cat in your mouth?  How?  For an average person who studied in something for 9 years, it's reasonable to say that he should have reasonable understanding of it.  However, from what you said and your attitude towards Christianity totally not fit 9 years of studying.  I was questioning and wondering about what you did.  You can have poor memory and say you can't remember what you studied if you want but I guess you still remember what you learned in elementary school right so your memory can't be that bad, can it?

I owe your friend an apology?  On what?  Based on what I said "swearing = a shame of being a Christian"?  Maybe your swearing Christian friend owe an apology to God instead!

I asked him that question before, he said it's like being flexible with non-believer and he see that is a way to communicate with others.

Flexible?  Once again it shows how your friend's attitude toward Christianity is.  Go ask any pastor instead of your friend, see if this is flexible.  How come you kept asking your friends instead of the pastors out there?  What makes words from your friend's mouth gold?  Or even better, have you tried to find the answer in the Bible yourself?

And now, how do you know God did not swear?
So you said that if god swear, you will not follow him.
How do you prove that he did not swear AT all?

Why do you have to put the burden of proof on me?  Why don't you proof that Jesus sweared first?  Anyway, once again it shows how much you know about the Bible.  Do you remember before Jesus went on the cross he was punished by the Roman soldiers who did a whole bunch of bad things to him, falsely accusing him and making fun of him.  Did he say a bad word from his mouth?  Not even once!  When he was judged in front of Pilate, people were trying to come up with the wrong deeds that he had done but they couldn't find any.  At the end they accused him of being Jewish King.  In short, if he had done the slightest bad thing once, he wouldn't be accused of being the Jewish King.

It's funny how you *selectively* choose to believe in things from the Bible.  So is it like if you like a certain thing from the Bible, you believe, if not you don't?  If so, I think you should create your own religion then instead of claiming yourself being a Christian.

See?! There are a lot of things didn't tell words by words from the bible, and people have to decide what can do and what can't do (as I mentioned). Is it a "problem" for Christians/Catholics smoke,  ...

Nonetheless the basis for salvation should be the same.  How does that stop anyone from believing?

Using the previous example BBQ, even a non-believer knows eating BBQ frequently is not healthy.  If you're a wise man, then you should know what to do, don't need to say believe in Christ or not.  Eat BBQ once in a while is perfectly fine wor.

What is a "gambling tool" and what isn't? What ever a tool is being used for gambling, it is a gambling tool (at that moment). That's why I said playing chess could be too (even PS3, xbox....). But i ...

I agree on this wor.  But for the sake of non believers and not to give a bad image, playing MJ in a church is not recommended.  Ask some other people how they feel if they see Christians playing MJ in church on Sunday without knowing that they don't play money?  As simple as that.

I think I (not a believer) have a clearer concept than mj, he/she should read your comment sincerely.

So you mean you hate Christians less now?

Christians see a prostitute falls down on the ground, and in order to avoid non-believers' confusion and avoid to give bad image, they shouldn't go give her a hand and help her up?

You have so many questions like these, so hyperthetical.  It won't help you much towards finding the true God wor...

How about if you put on my shoes and try to answer this one yourself and please tell me your answer here.  Then I'll give my comment on it.

OK you claimed you read the Bible for 9 years so I assumed (I should've asked) you are a believer until now you explicitly say that you're not.  That makes more sense why you believe in some things and not others because for a believer he should not be believing in some things and at the same time not others.  Anyway, it clear now.  So I should not evaluate your comments from the POV of a Christian.  So your study was with a Catholic church?

About your friend, although he's trying his best to teach you about the Bible, at the same time have you found out the accuracy of his teaching (no disrepect), I mean do they come from the Bible or just his mind?  It's really the first time I hear that swearing is OK for a Christian.

However, to play MJ (just treat it as a game, no money/gambling is involved) in church or anywhere else is not a problem (God won't be unappreciated), and helping that prostitute in my example is also not a problem, even God would be appreciated.

Well, in theory I agree with your POV.

For the MJ scenario, it's more complicated in reality.  If only God and Christians live together on earth, then I would say playing MJ in church is not a problem at all, of course no money.  But for the reason I said above, it should be treated cautiously.

Helping people is definitely not a problem, whether she is prostitue or not doesn't really matter.  However, make sure personal safety comes first.  You know what kind of people usually hang around prostitudes.  It's better not to go alone, grab a friend or something.
