yes, we know 7D is crop sensor.  that's why our bro above wants a full frame with 7D ...

I wouldn't mind if Canon will do the same thing to the new 1DX, just call the next 5D series "3D" ... when the EOS 3 is still named the best AF film body .... ^_^

Canon is always short on the wide angle lens

Their quality is not good wor .. (depends what you compare)

Price ..  again ... depends what to compare ..  Nikon 14-24 is great quality and decent price, (a bit too much distortion) but their 16-35 F4 is high price .. compare to Canon 17-40 F4L ..

I do agree the Canon 14L is a bit over price .. since no other choice, so Canon can ask more  (vs Nikon 13mm .. not bad! LOL) It is about as sharp as Nikon 14-24 (and that is zoom for less $$) but better control on distortion (well, prime)

I don't have much Pentax or Minolta/Sony etc wide angle ... so .. dont hv experience to give any comment ... And I don't have the 8-15 yet, not sure how good it is, from the spec/price, seems like a great lens!
