Didn't know my tires look so wide

My set of winter tires came in today from tirerack.

For winter tires, my rear tire size drop from 295 to 265, but both looks very wide, especially when they are out from the car.

My previous STi had 225, then I went up to 245 which was already pretty wide...!

Anyway, here I some photos I took today when changed my tires.

295? should C4S 305? yours is C4S, not C2S, right?

Did you just get snow tire, or wheel/tire package?

SO nice to live in US ..  tire price is like 40% less....

The previous owner changed them from 305 to 295 because the 295 has a little more thread to start with.  As for my snow tires, they are sottozero series II, and I bought them with Wheels.  They are anything great and light, but looks pretty good.  Total for less than $1700 wheels + tires-

I was thinking to order winter wheel/tire package from Tirerack too ..  but .. ended up selling the car .. my wife wants new SUV ...

Discount tire direct is a bit cheaper than TireRack these days usually since it has free shipping.

    Yes, checked that out too. But discount tire has less RIM to choose from. And the base price is a lot more expensive (maybe 30-40% more) to begin with. So it ends up around the same.

I see.  I'm ordering winter tire this week too.  TireBuyer is $4 cheaper than DiscountTire on what I want but I haven't deal with TireBuyer.com before.

Sorry for being off topic, chobit.    My skinny winter tire is just 185 and it will look like bicycle tire if I put it next to yours 295.
