    but the official language is still traditional chinese. if the business targets mainland chinese so they use simplified chinese on the menu is OK BUT they should have also display traditional chinese as it's the official language.

Similarly, business here should have English title as well, besides the Chinese one.

Talking about official language...I know French is not popular here but "officially" we should still have French on the sign....I do think French sign should be shown in the Skytrain station...

You have to look at the whole picture and what Honger are fear about to make sense of the whole situation.  You just can't look at it as an individual events.  
Say, you have a baby, and you have to jump hoops to find the next can of baby formula?  You will have stream and smoke come out on your head.  (On that issue, I don't blame Mainlanders who just want to have milk that is safe for their babies.  I am just piss off at the situation.)  

Even 夢熊 is pissed off now.

ya, putting official language and their target customers' language is the best way to do business in each country, just like Kirin they have japanese, chinese and english. but their menu will become a novel....lol

what I mean is, yes, in some case we will just use our own languages for stuffs (menus in restaurants, business logos, etc) in other people's society. But we DID NOT actively force other people to use our language

In fact, pee on the sidewalk is common in Japan/Korea.
Canadians or Hong Kongers who like to shop in the US for cheaper products, should not complain too much about mainland Chinese shopping in Hong Kong, since they are doing just the same activity.

去LV, Hermes啲手袋都係法文啦，咁多年都冇寫繁體字，又唔見你香港人抵制佢哋？

過去幾十年我唔覺得香港menu一定有英文同繁體字，同樣，我又唔覺得唐人街同Richmond所有鋪頭都有英文menu噃。

都唔係一件壞事吖，睇吓個工作係咩啦。好似呢度警方都會請啲識中文，識越南語，識西班牙文嘅警察幫手。
我覺得識簡體字都幾緊要，呢個係大趨勢，又唔可以完全忽視。繁體字可以保留，但係都應該適應環境囉。

我嘅意見係，唔好咩都政治化，咩都上鋼上線，個別例子又炒作，借題發揮，變成嚴重惡行，然後狠狠批判。呢個世代少咗持平，少咗理性分析。Agnes b. cafe用簡體字又説成赤化，逼港人用殘體，再帶到去香港家長冇奶粉買...??? what the f**k?
