Hi boys and girls, here are some of the answers I found:

Q&A
1. Q: What about messages from Rogers - such as my data alerts, or roaming notifications, or other incoming messages (like Directory Assistance) that you send me?
A: Incoming notification messages are not impacted by this restructuring - we will continue to send appropriate notifications to you for free.

2. Q: What about messages from Rogers - such as my data alerts, or roaming notifications, or other incoming messages (like Directory Assistance) that you send me?
A: Incoming notification messages are not impacted by this restructuring - we will continue to send appropriate notifications to you for free.

Further info:

Effective June 15, 2009 customers without a text messaging package, messaging bundle or Value pack will be charged for incoming SMS
•        Postpaid customers will receive a bill message informing them that effective July 7, 2009, unless they subscribe to a text messaging plan, they will be charged for all non-premium received text messages.
•        The message will also advise that the rate for sending a text message while traveling outside of Canada will increase.
•        Text messages can also be sent by using either the Send Text Message feature on rogers.com or direct using any e-mail program. The e-mail address of the customer's phone will be their 10-digit phone number followed by @pcs.rogers.com.  Example:  [email protected].
•        Additionally, Text Messages can be sent from a Rogers Wireless phone to selected countries around the world. A complete list of International TXT destinations can be found at rogers.com/internationaltxt.
•        Rogers Wireless only supports French and English characters when sending international text messages regardless of what characters the handset supports.
•        If a customer has a domestic text bundle and sends a message internationally or to the US, it is NOT included in the bundle.
•        International text messages are sent the same way as a text message, however, it must be sent to 011, country code, and wireless phone number.
•        Customers can subscribe to both international and domestic SMS package at the same time.
•        Customers can not have 2 domestic or 2 international SMS SOCs on the account at the same time, as only one bucket would work.

Important Note: If a customer selects to block receiving SMS messages, they will not receive data alerts
•        They will not be able to purchase ring tunes, games, music or videos.
•        The impact of allowing customers to block incoming SMS messages but continue to navigate and purchase premium content is that these customers can download content but are not charged for the content they purchase.
•        This occurs because Rogers uses the SMS message to bill the customer for premium content.
•        If the SMS message is rejected, we cannot charge the customer for their purchase.
•        Messages sent from the customer's phonebook:
o        Must ensure the phonebook entry has the complete 10 digit phone number. The text message will not go through if the entry doesn't have all 10 digits.
•        Messages received from an e-mail source:
o        Will be truncated (cut off) at 160 characters.
o        Include subject line and the sender's email address as part of the 160 character maximum.
o        Must be sent in plain text format.
o        Must not include attachments (which cannot be viewed using Text Messaging).
•        Accented characters sent to a phone will be translated into unaccented equivalents.
•        Please note that all characters count towards 160 character maximum, including spaces.
•        Customers automatically have the ability to use Text Messaging while roaming outside of Canada, if a roaming agreement exists. Text Messaging is supported while roaming in any country where you can roam with voice.
