They should learn from Hong Kong government which has provided people with social housing. But here the government has reduced the amount of social housing at the Olympics village.

The problem is:
Where in Vancouver can you find a house for under $600,000???
Social housing program is not feasible in Vancouver,  they cost over $700,000
per unit to build, and the cost of prime property at False Creek?
The social housing at Olympics village is not meant for the hard working low income people, they are for the homers that neither pay tax or contribute to the city.
Some homers told me that they have never pay tax in their live,
they move from city to city, just to collect all the welfare available

Sigh .. same case in HK ..   those HIGH POSITION CHINA people can print cash ...  just buy buy buy .... the higher the price, more cash they print ..  doesn't matter ..

It is the US government that is printing money to cover their big national debt and deficit.
Now, the European union is printing money to cover the debt and deficit of countries like Greece, Spain, Portugal etc.

hahaha, immigrants come from many countries, not only China. Many of the immigrants from China are professionals with education. They are not rich tycoons who can buy houses with tons of cash.
