One of my fido lines' contract expired 2 weeks ago. The plan was: $35 unlimited voice + caller ID + voicemail = $44 + tax

I called in yesterday, told them that I already have my own smartphone and asked them to add 100mb data to my plan for $45, basically to match whatever Chat-r is offering. The cancellation dept's best offer was $51, I asked them to match or even beat Chat-r and they refused.

So I hopped to Chat-r 5 minutes later, end of story.

Chatr is Rogers, meaning they really don't care.

However, if you could get something from Bell, Virgin, Wind, etc... then you might have something to bargain with.

Satome, send me a PM, I will give you my phone # and ask them to check it whether they could offer you what I have on my account. Just tell them that "you guys give me friend a better deal". If you are willing to go on a contract for 3 years, I might want a favor from you.

Thanks a lot Philip, but it's too late now; as I said I already ditched them and ported the number over to Chatr. No contract now and I feel great!

And no I ain't gonna sign no stinking 3 yrs contract anymore. Really fed up with locked phone where you can't even use it when u travel.
