To breast feed a baby, it's hard work at the beginning, very hard. So most families get discouraged and give up in the first few days. In fact, milk doesn't really come out until a week later. Most new parents themselves are not growing up breast-fed, so they don't know how it works, and no one educates them, and no help from grandparents or peers.
Plus, HK hospitals are busying making money, breasting feeding doesn't bring in any revenue, so how could they care. In fact, more babies get sick, the potential revenue pool are larger. (Breast fed babies normal don't get sick the first year).
