廁所水箱危機

早前，我屋上層的浴室廁所水箱在半夜三更突然自動爆裂，由於水箱水龍頭會自動放水，直到早上我起床才發覺時樓上樓下都已局部水浸了，可憐地庫內三日前才鋪好的合成地板有四分一變了吸水麵包。替我換地板的師傅問那廁所的牌子是否 Crane，我說："是呀，你怎知道？"。他說已有聽聞此牌子的早期產品水箱有此問題。為了避免水災重演我馬上停用主人房內的廁所，今日，我終于自己動手把它拆去。曾經有朋友說不是每個這牌子的水箱都是一樣的，不會兩個都會自動爆裂吧。今日證實我的決定沒有錯：當我動手扭鬆水箱下面其中一口螺絲的時候、很確實是扭鬆！聽到啪一聲，再扭一下，又再啪一聲，看清楚原來已有兩條裂痕，扭第三下時水箱已經裂成幾塊跌出來，鋒利的陶磁裂口幾乎要我上演一幕割脈自殺。

如果你的房屋已有30多年而廁所是這個牌子的話你要考慮是否早點更換了。

I heard about the old style Crane water tank has problem.  Really scary.  One more suggestion is buy a water sensor and put it under the toilet water tank.  Any water on the floor will trigger the alarm like the smoke detector.  Well, you must be at home otherwise the result is the same.  Home depot sells it around $7 each.  I put one next to my hot water tank.

The only defective Crane line of toilets are made during the late 80s to 90s due to unionised workers strike.

All the ones made before late 80s or pst mid-90s are reliable and no incidents reported so far.

You just happen to be one of the unfortunate ones.

To others: if you want to replace them, get those 6L American Standard Cadet. Otherwise, stay with 13L old style Crane or American Standard.
