I think for the Vancouver 2010 Cauldron to fail, it's embarrassing for the organizers=.

For Shanghai Expo trial, it's for both the people and the organizer. It's a cultural embarrassment for the people (rushing the gate since all the reservation is out? wtf?), and an planning failure fo the organizer (crowd control totally lacking).

IMO an open trial means they will expect glitches, but not an out-right failure... There is a difference between a closed alpha vs an open beta... Moreover, denial of the failure just to save face shows that China still have a lot to learn...

I guess, at least this didn't happen on the actual opening day. We will get there... someday...
