OOkay~ I'm think of PS3 too.....but its so expensive...I think its around $399! I like games like Zelda...that you can play continuously....the onli videogame I ever played..at a frd's house -_-lll~
As lik says, there's no such thing as better game console. It all comes down to how much you plan to play the console and how hardcore you are into gaming.
If you just want something fun, easy to pick up or play in a party, then Wii will definitely be the first choice.
If you are a hardcore gamer, play the console even if you are alone, have high graphic requirements, or want more challenging games, then PS3 will be your choice.
It all comes down to how you plan to play the console.
PS3 is good if you can stand the noise
XBox is good if you want to play more mainstream games
Wii is good if you have kids and want to play free online

Well, it's not overkill la. If you like to play the games on it and to you, it's worth it, then it's all good! Plus, $399 is a lot cheaper than when it was first released already! That said, I have been wondering about whether I should wait to get a PS3 or not. Hehe, who knows, maybe the price will come down again? or maybe Boxing Day?
also Wii and PS3/XBOX 360 are different levels of machines even though they are all same generation
Wii's games are more friendly (and for many people to play in a party), but pretty bad graphics out of the 3
XBOX and PS3.. really depends on what games you want to play? there are certain games that are XBOX exclusive or PS3 exclusive...
however.. most games are available on both XBOX and PS3, and maybe one or two that also have a Wii version.. so when it really comes down to it, really depends on what particular games you want to play?
For example:
if you really want to play Halo 3 --> get XBOX
if you really want to play Super Mario Galaxy --> get Wii
if you really want to play Metal Gear Solid 4 --> get PS3
if you really want to play Guitar Hero 3 --> Xbox, PS2, PS3, Wii are all fine.
Right now PS3 sales are horrible because there are not enough PS3-only games, as long as exclusive games (such as Grand Turismo 5, Metal Gear Solid 4 etc) become available, they will help drive sales.
