我有朋友17號過來玩,唔知香港買普通果d機機平定呢度啊?同埋邊只好啊?

Which one you want to buy ?

Still ..   water product in HK are cheap ..  

If you are looking at  D3, D700, D300, 5DII .. those upper class DSLR   slightly cheaper in HK  ( and the tax )  

For 450D, A300, A350 or D60 package etc  those low end DSLR, cheaper here ..  

But for lens, especially some Nikon lens after big price jump .. such as 328, 220, 428 etc ..  MUCH CHEAPER here ..  

For small DC .. if you are buying panansonic .. such as the hot LX3 .. cheaper in HK ..     if you are buying the G10 ..  cheaper here ......   

Actually, I just bought few lens for my friends .. much cheaper in Canada ..

Besides the price, Canada warranty is another issue to consider.

Based on current exchange rate I think it's cheaper to buy in Canada.

Warranty is another concern as some companies do not honour international warranty.  For example, Nikon Canada will not fix anything you bought outside of Canada.

it's better to buy it here

1.  if you plan to go traveling aboard a lot (if you by it oversea, you might need to worry about getting taxed every time you return to Canada)
2.  for warranty issue.

Almost NONE of the camera brand beside SONY, will offer warranty other then ORIGINAL owner ..    ( suppose )

Even buy in HK ..  most camera come with 1 yr international warranty, and in HK, no one will put your name on your receipt .. but Canada ...

If you are looking for 普通果d..   say D90, 450D, 50D, A300, A350, E520 etc ...  then buy in here la, about the same price, and some brand offer TWO YEAR Canadian warranty for original owner.
