China is now the largest export markets for both Korea and Japan.
But Japan is the common of enemy of both China and Korea. In the past 150 years, Japan had used Korea numerous times as a springboard to attack China. Both Chinese and Korean are still suspicious of Japanese militarism.

A new unified Korea will challenge Japanese industries. So Japan has the most to lose. China is too big for Korea to pose a challenge. Imagine the Korean companies like Samsung and Hyundai setting up factories in low cost North Korea, they will be a big challenge for Japanese industries which are already losing market share to the Koreans. It is Japan that is worried about a unified Korea.

Very disappointed you haven't studied Cold War in good depth...

I agree that China has been betrayed by companions Russia and North Korea past the war. Short after the war, China has gone through a crazy era of the cultural revolution. However, since then, there's no more major warfares associated with China for couple decades...

You should think again here. The US spends large amount of money to maintain the military bases in Korea and Japan.

China has used North Korea as a leverage or a bargaining chip against the US. The US needs China's cooperation with regard to North Korea. China can then asks the US to shutup about China currency and other trade issues.
