how much would they cost?

Intel 160GB SSD @ $999.99 now.

WHOA... I want that

2.0GB/s achieved by killing 1 Video Card slot cuz it was drawing power, making the ARECA HBA failed to initialize.

They had to unplug the optical (Blu-Ray) drive to make use of all 6 on motherboard SATA headers to give 50MB/s extra.

They had to use the ARECA SAS 24 ports HBA, and a Promise HBA (I am betting also SAS) and all the 6 on Motherboard SATA headers to achieve that figure....

Kinda dumb exercise if you ask me as they are hitting PCI-E bottleneck anyways... I'm sure purely combined through put of just 10-15 of those SSDs will already peak at 2GB/s, just a matter of HBA inefficiencies and using up those 6 onboard motherboard headers just to make up for PCI-E inefficiencies....

Not to mention they probably have FW RAID on the HBAs and SW RAID on top of it to RAID the rest of the volumes together.... CPU utilization probably is damn high for a 'hard drive'

it's just propaganda...er...creative marketing on samsung's part.

the rig would need its own power generator...
