Thanks all for your advice and comments.  Will get one in HK for $2600 to replace my dying iPhone 4 until next dream cell phone. Actually, there are many China brand names smart phone available in HK under $2000.  Huawei seems more reliable among others. My friends and family members in HK switched to Samsung Note II from iphone 4/4S but it's pricy and too large for me to put in the jacket pocket.  And it looks funny to put a 5.5" device on my ear to talk.

That's very true, in MTR, restaurants, buses.... most HK people using these two brand names. they may be reliable and powerful.  I believe most of them are price $0 if enter a 1-3  contract with HK cell network suppliers.  Most important, not like Canada, these suppliers offer the latest models to the consumer for free.  HK consumers don't even need to consider other second line devices when the first line products are free.  However, for a backup device during transition period, I don't want to pay more than C$350.  The next issue is all Canadian discounted cell phones come with contract are locked.  I can't use it in HK or somewhere else.
