Really can't see... I see it as a real demand of salt. I don't think the Japs general public will think the salt can help them to avoid radiation, but rather, they afraid the future salt production will get contaminated...
Even when the action taken is the same, there is a difference between informed decisions and ignorance. To round them all up under the same umbrella, that is ignorance and stupidity on your part.
These ignorant Japanese are buying salt for no reason at all. Since they blindly trust their government, that they have huge stockpiles of salt around the country, as they "planned so well" for earthquakes.
Why would they need to buy in bulk anything, if they believe their government already stockpile for them?
Mostly the nervous pro-Japanese morons would give excuses and justification for any actions taken by the superior Japanese.
These overseas nervous Japanese fanatics are now watching closely, hoping their Japanese masters would somehow solve this crisis soon. Otherwise, it will be a great loss of face, and serious doubt would be casted onto their long years of blind admiration of superior Japanese culture.
i was told that regular food and produce still have plenty available. (e.g. fruit, vegetable, meat)
non perishable food are harder to find (e.g. instant noodle, canned food)
