It is not that HK can't buy oil. HK will have problems generating cash for buying oil.

Dubai is in a desert, but they can sell oil to make money and then buy other things.
HK can't sell oil to make money.
Once the food, water, electricity supply and favorably financial policies are cut, HK is like a desert with no natural resources to sell.

金融, 我只記得大陸來香港賣人民幣債券.
港商在大陸開三萬廠, 僱1000萬人. 把香港玩具鐘錶世界第一轉移給大陸.
大陸來香港上市, 數以十萬億計的資金由港人出. 港股大陸上市就大隻講咗十年.
天災香港向大陸捐, 數以千億計.
大陸人去香港消費450億(2010), 香港人北上消費690億.

食, 水, 電是香港真金白銀買的, 不是大陸送.

Currently a lot of big Chinese companies are listed in HK stock exchange. But many of them are also listed in Shanghai and New York. They can easily delist from Hong Kong stock exchange. Imagine if that happens, the financial sector of HK will be greatly affected.

You need to do the math again rather than throwing out random numbers.
HK money is simply not sufficient to affect big Chinese companies which are among the largest in the world in terms of market capitalization. Most of the stocks transactions in Hong Kong are from mainland China investors and foreigners anyway.

They can easily further develop the big airports in Guangzhou and Shenzhen so that all transit traffic from China goes through them instead of Hong Kong. If that happens, HK airport will be greatly affected.

In addition, Chinese factory products can be exported from the container ports in Guangzhou and Shenzhen, instead of HK. If that happens, HK container ports will be greatly affected.

We are talking about the pillars of HK economy being affected here, airport, container ports, stock exchange, tourism etc.

Your premises are all correct... only if you are talking about a true liberal China. HK is just a piece of cake.

As long as CCP is ruling China, that won't happen... HK is still playing a big role in providing security to fundings.

I am not sure why, some people said Hong Kong does not benefit from selling electricity to China. Now you are saying Hong Kong does sell electricity to China.

But then, if we assume HK cuts all trading links with China, why would HK want to sell any electricity to China, a place that they hate. If that happens who else will buy electricity from HK?

No, the reverse is true. Just because the CCP is in charge, they can give all the favorable policies to Hong Kong (even if HK hates China), without worrying about all other parts of China's 1.3 billion people complaining why the central government cater to HK which is already rich.
