but you need to pay for the fees to issue all new ids.  also contact each dept.
if you travel with your kids, you can just bring their birth certificates, which will have your name on it.  so don't worry.  the birth certificate is same size as the driver license, some parents even keep it in their wallet.

I saw a lot of Chinese women who married Caucasian completely changed their last name(like our ex governor general, Ms Clarkson, who kept it even after divorce), but insist on keeping their original last name if they marry a Chinese guy(equality?). Just wonder what is their mentality or standard? Is it better to be a fake Caucasian than a Chinese? I am not trying to flame anyone, it is just my causal observation.

traditional, you will change your last name after marriage and keep it even you are divorce.
but nowadays, i think it is more like a personal choice, my girlfriends who married caucasians didn't change their last names(one of them is cbc).  even my co-workers, a caucasian girl married a caucasian guy, she didn't change her last name either.
my another co-worker is a caucasian girl, she changed her last name after she married a chinese, but it gave her a lot of trouble, because everyone else expects she can speak chinese.  
at my workplace, if you change your last name, you need to get all licenses, business card & work id done.  and you need to inform your clients, otherwise they won't able to find you under the directory, therefore people tends to keep their last name no matter they are caucasian or chinese.

My girl friend who married caucasian does not changed her last name.
But my aunt (also married caucasian) changed her last name and keep it after divorce.
I guess it's just a matter of choice. However, for myself, I may change if I have kid..otherwise definitely keep my last name. Too much trouble to change...

If you put firstname, wife's lastname, hubby's lastname, people might think wife's lastname is the middle name instead of lastname.
