Open/Full Face Helmet selections for Auto-X / Track

Have been looking to buy a helmet for auto-x and go-kart (yes, at least a few times a month).

Any suggestions? I am leaning for towards the open-face type because it's cooler, lighter and have wider view.

Of course, I don't want to get an open-face one if they are not allowing them during track days (not sure if I am going yet). Or all they are looking for is Snell approved regardless of open-face or full-face?

If you consider doing go-kart (even those TBC one), you would want a close face.

If only for AutoX and track day and you are driving a door slammer, I will pick an open face one.  You will need one with SA rating for track day (to be on the safe side since not all track days allow M rating).

Karting and SA close face helmet has a wider view compare to a motorcycle helmet already.  And open face one not necessary lighter, but it is cooler.

I have a M rated full face helmet myself. Most of the lapping days in Pacific NW region only require M rated design. I recommend u to get a M rated ones since u're still pretty new to the sport. When u start to go to more lapping events, THEN get yourself a lighter, SA rated helmet coz a typical autocross run only last about a minute. But it's 30min/session usually, for lapping days.

Aiya, go give track day a try la. The costs involved are quite a bit higher, but overall, it is a better value than autox because you get so much seat time ga~

ANDDDDD u don't have to pickup stupid cones during the event. Just have go out and drive, come in & rest.

I just picked up a Bell Mag Open Face SA2005, the SA2010 just came out and they are blowing the old ones out.

A 1 cent increase in your stocks is more than enough for all the car prep and registration fee for a track day la~

No way... you know how much tax I owe to the government this year? The last 10% gain I made last week only covers my income tax owe!!

It's not that I made a lot, it's my employer didn't deduct a lot, and I had to make the $$$ to pay back the government in one lump sum.

I am also saving for my summer and winter trip vacation... need a balance.
