VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) - The family of Wendy Ladner-Beaudry hopes a $30,000 reward will inspire new tips in her unsolved murder.
The body of the 53-year-old mother of two was found on a trail at Pacific Spirit Park in 2009. And even though her killer is still out there somewhere, police insist our parks are safe.
"Be aware of what's in your surroundings. Have a whistle with you in case you do need to attract attention. Those types of things which are very-low key, but certainly at a time when needed can be very beneficial," says Sergeant Peter Thiessen.
Ladner-Beaudry had been out for a regular jog when she was murdered. Police have a list of about 200 "persons of interest" they're looking to speak with about the case. Mounties won't confirm if they have any suspects.
Police have also never said whether her death was random or targeted. The reward expires on June 3rd, 2011 in order to create some urgency in the case. |
