People will get used to Vista when they are force on to it either by buying new machine or force upgrade in the company (like the gov't).

I am running Vista since it releases. No problem at all, and it's a two year old computer. I wonder why you guys are having so much problem with Vista.

But anyway... i will be replacing my PC with an 24" iMac w/ 2.8Ghz core 2 extreme next week... my first Mac. :-)

The problem you see is different then what we see. When you need to support a few hundreds of PC with cooperate policies, you'll see lots more problems.

It's like people that does in house support for large cooperation always see more problem with a specific manufacture because all their machines are from that manufacture.

Ex: If all desktop/laptop is from IBM in the company, you'll see lots of problem from IBM since there's only IBM machines around. The same goes for HP, Dell, Toshiba, Sony, etc.....

"XP SP3 will also due the same time as Vista SP1. The rep from MS already told us that there will be no new features, it is merely roll ups of all the updates since SP2. It should also be the last Service Pack."-pk

Isn't there performance improvement too?

Goody, u should rephrase the question to "How much performance hit will I get by installing SP3?"

No performance update on XP SP3. Just roll up of patches.
Vista SP1 will have some performance update.

Vista is good only if your hardware is good enough to support it. In my computer, it's pretty dang fast, faster than XP in anything.

Lerico, you picked up the $2499 iMac with the Core 2 Extreme to replace your PC? Where did you get that from? I have one in my store and only a few asked for it. Most of them are trying to get the reg 24" for X'mas, but all sold out. The iMac is a good machine, just make sure you get AppleCare for it. I have one sitting in the service bench waiting to be worked on. I think it's video card issue.

I ordered it from SFU computer store. I got SFU staff discount on it, same as the normal edu. price.

That is what we called a Custom To Order (CTO) Mac, it took us a while to get our hands on one consider Apple is so behind on our shipment.
