hi,

anyone here ride Road Bicycle every weekend??

wanted to see any chinese go out and ride on weekends with!!

I saw a group of chinese riding at iona beach couple weeks ago!! never got a chance to stop and say hi because we are going different directions!!

let me know maybe we can go ride together!!

I am not even close to a professional, only started this last year!!

Rode the Wheel to Heal and Ride to Conquer Cancer this year.  I survived both ride hehehe =)

haha my brother have a road bike and i have a hybrid bike, i prefer hybrid as its more comfortable to cruise around downtown. i am planning to get a road bike this year, but not sure what to choose.

what bike do you have?

road bike can get real dangerous, my little brother crashed into a dumpster, knocked 3 teeth out, had to have jaw surgery. don't feel safe with road bike's ****ty brakes.

WOW crashed into a dumpster..... crazy!!!

yeah the brakes is kinda scary on road bikes specially when you are going downhill like 60km/hr

I did 60+km/hr at stanley park from top of hill going down.... hehe =)

I am a beginner so didn't buy a crazy expensive bike, at first I didn't know if I like road bike so I spend around $1200 on my first road bike!

I got a 2011 Giant TCR1 - is a beginner road bike

I am looking into getting a beginner commuter bike. hybrid most likely...
I went to Bike Dr. last weekend but I am not sure if I am ready to buy yet...
Any suggestion for hybrid? (brand and model) I want something light but not crazy expensive... I think I will also look on craigslist as well. But I really don't want to get a stolen bike.
I don't think I am brave enough ever to ride road bikes...

If you are looking for cheap bikes, keep an eye out for the police bike auctions. There are literally hundreds of bikes available from there. But you want to do your homework and have a general idea of how much different models costs, or you're gonna end up paying too much in the midst of bidding (or you might end up not getting a bike).

Few of my friends do road biking and they formed a group.  The whole group is Vancouver Chinese (Cantonese).  They have regular ride on Wed and Weekend.  I could forward you more info if you want.

One of my friend did the "Ride to Conquer Cancer" for the last 2 years and this year he managed to raise $12k.
