The problem is, complaints on all power in positions of authority always gone to no-where. The complaint handling process is done often lacking in transparency. The lack of real checks and balances often allow these types of things slip by easily. 1 organiziation or individual in authority always try to cover another organizaiton/individual's back even if one or more of them have misconducted themselves.
I guess this doesn't just apply to Canada, but to North America in general. I guess there are not much places like HK or Singapore where orgnaizations like ICAC can be inplaced to allow the power of checks and balance propagate through the entire governing system. Who in positions of authority would be willing to hand over plenty of power to entities that will subject themselves to scruitny anyways? Understandable but as a citizen would love to see us improve in this aspect.

For me, I never was checked.
I was never checked as well. However I am inclined to believe that those victims' cases were real. Just because you are not the victim does not mean that things are not happeneing. In fact, denial of problems just because they don't happen on you personally is the quickest way to allow the problem to proliferate, and by the time you are affected it is often too late.
