if it is not a MUST then don't drive a manual in the exam la

there is no problem with taking an exam with manual cars, many friends have done that...

diff ppl has diff bad habits, shifting at a turn could be one ~ unless u are well experienced, but a lot of time u probably dun wanna do that...

shift point is also important: if u make ur shift too close to a turn, that will also be considered as dangerous action; make sure u downshift early enough and make every action nice and clear...

no heel / toe / revmatching necessary, you are just going to give the examiner a bad image u are gonna race with anyone on the road

If you're confident with manual, why not take a test with it, go for it!

Watch out when you start on a slope, even if you rollback an inch, the examiner can deduct marks, use your e-brake!

Keep both hands on the steering wheel if you're not shifting.  Starting from a stop at a left turn could be a bit tricky.  Bad habit to rest one hand on the shift knob...do that after you pass the test...LOL

Drive the car as smooth as you possibly can.

Never leave the car in neutral when moving.  i.e. When heading towards a stop, brake and downshift according to the proper speed.

Downshift if you need to, don't lug the engine, don't use 2nd gear to take off.

and i have been driving it since i got my class 7
(almost 5 years... licence gonna expire soon thats y i need renew lol)
its the only car i get used to thats y i must take the road test with it
but i never learn manual from a driving teacher
so i have no idea what i can't do while driving (like shifting in a turn)
i know i must have many bad habbits
so hoping someone can share their experience what i should look out for...

thx...

when i stopped, like waiting the red light
do i have to in 1st gear ?
or its ok to have it in neutral ?

i would probably leave it in 1st gear for road test...

that's what my friend did, "be always prepared to go" ar ma

yeah e-brake on a uphill and two hands on steering wheel are always important...make sure u make all the steps / action nice and clear!

small world 神偷, good luck practicing
