I used to live in that neighbourhood.  I've seen ppl speeding 80-100 along W 4th., while the speed limit is 50km...  I rememeber that right corner is pretty sharp, need to gear down before making the turn... I guess the dude stepped on the brakes and the car spins off.  what a sad news... Slow down guys

明報專訊】溫西灰角(Point Grey)區一個被鄰居視為「死亡彎角」的轉彎位，昨日凌晨發生駭人奪命車禍，一名年約24歲男子駕駛一輛私家車，懷疑以時速逾100公里，在轉彎時失控猛烈撞及路邊燈柱，車輛應聲斷開兩截，車尾一截嚴重扭曲，傾側在燈柱附近，車頭一截餘勢未了繼續前衝，最終撞毀附近城市屋苑的圍欄才停下來，車內司機當場傷重死亡。

警方相信車禍涉及超速，加上路面有黑冰，正調查意外是否也涉及酒精。

靠近卑詩大學，警方事後封鎖該段路面調查車禍原因，令駛經該處路面的汽車大排車龍，所有車輛和公共交通公具均需改道而行。該處路面在不足一個月內，發生兩宗死亡車禍。

溫哥華市警督察格魯米奇(Eric Grummusch)表示，警方昨日凌晨3時許，接報前往上址調查一宗嚴重交通意外，發現一輛淺色富豪私家車嚴重撞毀，車內年約24歲男司機當場傷重死亡。

警方資料顯示，事發時，肇事私家車沿西4街西行線高速行駛，在轉彎時失控剷上行人道，撞及路邊一枝電燈柱。現場消息稱，肇事車輛當時的時速，可能超過100公里，並在轉彎時失控發生意外。

肇事車輛撞柱後，傳出一聲巨響，車輛應聲斷開2截，其中車尾的一截嚴重扭曲，倒在燈柱旁。至於車頭的一截仍然餘勢未了，繼續衝前，剷上附近行人道，撞毀一個城市屋的圍欄才停下。

yeah i lived around there and it's very tempting to speed between dunbar and that corner on west 4th...2 lanes with mostly not a lot of cars

我從來唔會o係果頭快，太多差佬...

果度d車成日都開到好快.
以前返學, 試過跟住一架 corolla, 全程由 burrard 開始到 ubc, 平均開 110 km/h...   
(仲係女仔添... 應該係趕緊返學... 呵呵...)

不過揸慣果條街d人, 去到 jerico 果頭就收慢囉喎. 因為勁多差佬.

Can someone tell me where that sharp corner is!?  I was checking the map, and I don't see anything unusual there?

West 4th westbound turning right into NW Marine Drive..

doesn't seem sharp on google map;

(go straight... UPHILL towards UBC... turn right.. to the beach)


but take a drive there... try to make a turn @60...

and of coz depends on what car you are driving... if it's a M3 or Audis (for example)... piece of cake... and skills


usually i shift from 4th gear to 2nd to make that turn...
