you said: 43% discount, doesn't show your real discount levels.
A discount level -9~ -20 all with 43% discount.
i give you an example, for my wife got 43% discount, and her discount level is -16. And she in a accident with 75% fault. ICBC +2 discount level, that make her raise discount level to -14. It still 43%. NOTHING CHANGE. she need 4 yrs to earn back to -16, but who care.
if your discount level is +0~ +10, a accident with 100% fault can move up 6 level.
if your discount level is -15 ~ -20, a accident with 100% fault move up 3 level.....
Thanks everyone for the help, i think i kinda understand the chart.
I just check my CRS from the insurance paper, i am CRS -17, so that means I am still good
One more thing, C Hing. If my understanding of this ICBC insurance stuff is correct, don't be misled into thinking that insurance premiums will not increase for you / your wife. It still will. From what I understand, your discount percentage will not decrease. However, your starting rate is dependent on both your CRS level and the discount amount. By dropping 3 steps lower, your insurance is still going up, but the amount is going to be sufficiently small such that it would not be worthwhile for you to cough up that $1800 yourself to fix both cars.
