警無暇出庭 25％牛肉乾撤銷 爭議違例交通告票 「亞Sir事忙」

溫市約四分之一有爭議的交通違例告票，因警員未有出庭而要撤銷。

溫哥華市警承認，大約四分之一有爭議的交通違例告票，因為發出告票的警員未依時出庭而最終需要撤銷。
2008年9月，溫哥華市警審計部門發表《交通法庭審計報告》（Traffic Court Audit），審計主要目的，是要評估市警缺席交通法庭或者加班出庭的情況。
該審計報告發現，2008年上半年，所有經溫市洛遜廣場省級法庭（Robson Square Provincial Court）處理的有爭議違例交通告票中，大約四分之一因為檢控的警員沒出庭而撤銷。
市警將研究減低缺席情況
   據溫市警發言人麥吉尼斯（Jana McGuinness）指出，安排時間上的衝突以及警員正常職務問題，往往是他們未能出庭原因。她說，市警將研究減低缺席情況，改善編更使警員能多出庭，並協助法庭安排出庭時間，希望有更多警員經常出庭。麥吉尼斯又說，警員出席其他省級法庭作供，則不成問題。
據一份2009年10月發表的《交通法庭審計跟進報告》顯示，有關情況已獲改善。與2007至08年度比較，2009年上半年因警員缺席而導致違例交通告票撤銷的比率，下跌24.1%，而警員依時出庭的比率，也上升約18%。

Many years ago, someone told me that try to arrange your court appointment aorund noon, there is a high chance the cop will not show up because it is their break time and they don't bother using their lunch time for court case...
but not sure if it is true, I believe cops don't work regular office hours, so anytime could be their break time, rite?

Generally the city police are schduled tighter and their duty roster can shifted to other parts of the city.

RCMP on the other hand, are generally less busy and their schedule can accomodate court hearings.

as i heard, they will schedule all the cases on the same day and that police will only need to go to count on that day.  but if that police is work o/t or still working on the case from the previous day, he may choose not to show-up at the court
