The BC Government hasn't even introduced its HST legislation and already the campaign to overturn that legislation through an initiative has been scheduled to begin April 6.
This initiative is an important grassroots tool to send a message to the BC Liberals. There will be other opportunities to oppose the HST, but if you want to participate in the initiative it is important that you act today to ensure that you are properly registered to vote at your correct address.
Individuals who are not registered to vote as of April 6, 2010 will not be allowed to sign the initiative or collect signatures. And if your registration information on the voters list is incorrect it could hamper any efforts by opponents of the HST.
Register with Elections BC, right now by clicking here: [https://eregister.electionsbc.gov.bc.ca/ovr/welcome.aspx]
"""Or you can google "election BC", click "Voting" on the left and then click "Voter Registration" on the left. then follow the instruction. If you want to register online, you need to have your BCDL & SIN ready."""
I received this letter from "Stop the HST Campaign ([email protected])"
Please remind your friends and family to sign our Stop the HST petition and to register or update their voter registration with Elections BC.
impost hst and maybe lower pst 1-2% so total over all 10% so some thing we can get it cheaper while other things are more expensive would be more fair.
i don't totally against the hst, since i want the federal funding as well. but i will like bc liberal follows what happened in ont; lower the overall tax rate. if we can stop the hst now, i believe bc liberal will start listen to us and introduce a better hst proposal. they need the funding as well. i don't like ndp, but we are on the same boat now.
if the hst does get stopped and the liberal doesnt getting the funding for the hst transition...i will laugh at all the ppl complains then for all the service cuts bcoz of it

They did not have the HST in the past, why do they need the HST now? For new programs? If so, what are they?
I'm against HST, but I do not want to fall into the snarl of NDP.
They are merely taking the opportunity to gain support,
Carol James says the BC NDP will keep the HST if they
win the election. I'M ANTI-NDP
