如果中國製造的汽車推出加拿大市場,

What you said is completely self-contradictory. China's industries are certainly capable of high quality and precision if they are able to apply "strict guidance and management control". They have the technology, but it is not profitable to use it to mass produce cars.

What China lack is a market for quality cars that is wholly engineered in China. Or in other words, it is not worth the money to develop something when they can simply make money using established designs-like Toyotas'. Which they ship to other place to sell anyways.

Those crappy made in China cars are intents to be crappy, because that is what most people in China can afford right now. Of course the fact the cars are a safety hazard does not make these points anymore acceptable.

I guess those china brand cars are safer.... compare to their good old bicycle vs another car...  ummm... maybe not...

If you are so good, why don't you contribute to China's car industry, rather than making plastic car models at home?

....... well china stuff does improve over the years but like some one mentioned, there is no way for a company to start from scratch. (And this is a very stupid move in terms of business as well) I mean if they can make something reliable, durable, safe. why not? The only problem is they seriously need to adjust their attitude of  "We are the best" and "I don't give a shxt since I am not using it" types of thinking. Other wise with their producing power, rest of the developed countries would face a strong competitor in the future.

Once they have entered th global market then they will know how many challenge that they will face. ( Its already begun now !) Such as the Canadian food safety an the new product import policy that will roll out in the next few months..... so yea, as long as Canada is standing firm on their regulations, the cars from china can be reconsider.

I think Canada's safety rule is pretty strict, if they can get pass it, why not?

LOL! I strongly recommend you to go take a course in industrial management and quality control course before you come back and quote on these things. automobile is a complex piece of work which requires hundreds, if not thousands of parts like screws, bolts, nuts, etc. While china is certainly capable in making these fundamental parts, it is to one's dismay that they still cannot do so with high precision and most important of all, consistency. Quality control is about everything from management to logistics to outsourcing component quality and testings, etc. China is good as a manufacturing facility (under strict guidance and management control) but not from ground up.

You don't have to take my word for it. Just talk to someone whose managing a manufacturing facilities in mnd china and they will be able to tell you that....

cars  completely designed and built in china? No thank you. I'll wait for a few more decades then. But then by then when that happens, I'll be fast approaching my grave already so why would I care by then ? (I'll be so old I'll take the transit thx)

China is a technology advanced country. They have a long history of car manufacturing. Their cars are very good these days. China is already the second/third largest car manufacturer and market in the world. If they want to export cars they need to pass all crash tests. So it is safe to buy them if available. Chinese are smarter than the Japs or Koreans. The first batch of Jap cars started to rust after one year. The Koreans started with unreliable cars. Look at how much they have improved. It took the Japs 30 years to gain meaningful market share. The Koreans took 20 years. The Chinese will take 10 years to take market share.

Chinese engineers are smart people. The Chinese people are passionate about cars. They know what a good car should look and drive like. We don't see why they can't make very good cars. The plan for China is to produce not only everyday commuter cars but also high-end luxury cars and performance cars that can rival all those German or Italian sports cars.
