Japan - Tokyo trip

HI ALL
I am planning to go to Tokyo for 7 days 5 nights.  I've been to Tokyo 6 years ago but that time I followed those tours and the experiece was still very blurry. I don't really remember where I went and what I did!  This time it would be a  自由行 instead because 唔想成日好似要趕住去另一個地點咁...好無謂囉! anyways... 我仲未開始做 research 架, 不過諗緊三月二號 or 三號出發.. 應該會住新宿果頭既酒店.. I really want to go 浸溫泉 during the trip ar! where can i go? are they all public??? like 男女共用? I also want to go to that 迪士尼海洋, is it worth the time to go? what are the best places to for hardcore shopping experiences?? and what are some of the places that I must visit? (i've been to the major attractions that could be easily found in those 行程 from 旅行社 already) I want it to be a very chill, relax, 有得食有得玩有得買野既trip! hehe... 我要開始plan定喇.....

really looking forward to your replies!

I stayed here during summer 2007...pretty cheap...and you can reserve the rooms for free...but make sure you do it 2 months in advance...they let you reserve the rooms within 2 months before ur arrival...do the booking fast cuz they get reserved really fast...

if you are going to tokyo...i can give u a run down of how i used my 7 days there...
by the way...i'll prefer 池袋 instead of 新宿 (新宿比較雜)

yeah I am planning to stay in Shinjuku, but haven't decide which hotel yet! But I heard that Shinjuku is very central to most places that's why I chose to book hotel there! By the way, which areas have the best shopping experiences?? I am not looking for super brand name stuff... like mid-range price ge shopping boutiques or what not...hehe I love shopping =) I would also love to try the very tradtional type of ramen la! Which ones do you guys recommend? I still don't have time to do research yet i'm so lazy

I had a longer reply... but I got kicked out from lyk in the middle of it....
so...

DO anyone know a hotspring hotel (prefer small/family run) that takes ONE person for their onsen room?

btw... for your info... most japanese onsen are unisex. except those in the wild (not many) or those inside your own room.. or those that you can reserve in your hotel to be used privately.

We stayed at Park Tokyo at Shinodome (10mins walk from Ginza) just last Fall ... and we swear ... if we ever go to Tokyo again, we will always stay at the same hotel again.  (only down side ... if you need to go to Shinjuku often or will only stay along Yamenote JR line ... then the Park Tokyo is not for you) on the other hand, it's has DIRECT access to subway. (Not JR)

For reference, I stayed in Shinjuku Prince, Ikebukuro (sp?) Prince and local ryokans as well ...

浸溫泉 ... never did that in Tokyo itself except Hakone.  I heard Ito 溫泉 is good, quite far away.  Hakone is very touristy.. and their 溫泉 don't work for me.  But you can see Mt. Fuji though.

Good 溫泉 fixes backpain and smooth skins.  My favorite one is near Takayama and we'll definitely go again and again.
