The BC taxpayers are going to pay for this crap. They are now adding a new retractable roof top at BC Place using ~$500 million. Are they going to make back that money? By hosting another winter Olympics?
The total cost for BC Place is more expensive than the Bird's Nest which is bigger and more elegant.

So instead of building more schools and fixing the Burrard bridge, Campbell is spending $500 million on this vanity project at BC Place.

First, have you ever provided any support for your stupid statements? If you want to challenge me, provide your evidences or supports. Otherwise, it just makes you look stupid in front of people.

Second, the cost of construction does not include the social cost. However, does it support your claim that the Bird Nest costs hundreds time more than the construction of BC stadium?

You already purposely excluded the social benefit of 2008 Olympic in your statements, didn’t you?

On your behalf of showing your stupidity publicly, I did a math on the cost of the construction of the Bird Nest and BC stadium.

Cost for Bird Nest:                                        423 million USD in 2008
Construction cost of BC stadium:                   126 million CAD in 1981

Construction cost of BC stadium in 2008 value:        ~260 million USD
Assuming the inflation rate as                                 3% a year
Exchange rate of CAD vs USD:                                0.9

Could you tell me how you came up the conclusion that the Bird Net cost hundreds time more than the BC stadium?
