　　中新社北京3月28日电 中国北斗卫星导航系统工程总设计师孙家栋院士日前表示，2012年左右，“北斗”将首先具备覆盖亚太地区的定位、导航和授时以及短报文通讯服务能力。

　　据此间媒体报道，预计今年4月将发射第三颗倾斜同步轨道(IGSO)卫星，成功后北斗卫星系统就可形成区域导航定位能力。

　　中国工程院院士刘经南表示，完成布网的北斗卫星导航系统，将具备GPS没有的通讯功能。预计2012年左右，北斗卫星的导航可以覆盖亚太区域，北斗导航设备也会进入千家万户。他介绍，“北斗”芯片的价格与GPS相当，通过短报文通信功能，导航设备还可能投入到城市疏堵的工作中。

　　北斗卫星导航系统工程副总设计师李祖洪研究员介绍，中国建设北斗导航系统，就是为了建立一个与GPS等国际上其他导航定位卫星系统各有特色、兼容共享的系统。目前，国际上包括中国在内，只有美国、俄罗斯、欧洲四套卫星定位系统。

　　李祖洪说，北斗系统正在加速建设。今年将是系统加快进度的一年，中国正在与全球其他三大卫星导航系统赛跑，2020年左右，将建成覆盖全球的北斗卫星导航系统

個satellite 射比你就係果d info, 個map 只係locate 返map 返個地點比你之麻. 算啦, 一句講哂, 我地呢d 市民, 用d 唔駛錢既GPS 就足夠了.
人地阿Peter 仔射d 星上去, 當然唔係provide GPS 比市民咁簡單啦! 不過, 我打死都唔信賣GPS 可以賺到錢law. 不過, 軍事上, 小弟極度認同中國要有自己的GPS 系統, 唔係話要打杖, 不過一定要有能力打杖!

The position indicated by my smart phone is often 2 - 100 meters (very big difference) from where I actually stand. I don't know whether it is a problem with the accuracy of the map or the capacity of the GPS signal receiver of my smart phone.
Someone who has a smart phone can give it a try and see how accurate your device is.

為錢而毒害同胞不只發生在中國。 You can do a search and find out the similar cases had happened in other countries such as western countries and Japan.

However, what you said here does not sound related to the question you asked before.

Didn't you ask why China should invest in developing its own GPS system?

I tried to help you out to understand the issue but you seemed to avoiding the questions I asked. Do you mind to answer them again in a direct way?

First, how do you know China will not go into a war in the future?

Second, look at human history, what would make a country strong and prosperous?

中國係發展中國家, 加拿大係已發展國家, 情況好唔同.
如果中國一定要搞好13億人口既民生先至可以發展科技, 真係有排搞, 更加令到中國永遠落後於人, 小弟身為炎皇之孫, 希望中國明天會更好.

Second, if you want to make sense of investing in the development technologies, try to answer this question - "look at human history, what would make a country strong and prosperous?"   

Answer this question with examples and facts. Not just what you think.
