Sometimes garage doors/electrical gates will not operate due to freezin temp (-5 or lower)...I keep my garage door open (or I park my car at the carport) so the car won't get stranded. I rather clean the snow off my car then wait 20 minutes for the bus!

1.  Always have snow brush in your car.
2.  Leave earlier.

The road is okay if there is rain after snow.  However, if it is sunny after raining day, you should pay more attention of the hidden ice.
