How did you get LPI level 5?

Not those who's good in English at the first place.....
I've been doing it for years, yes literally YEARS!
SFU didn't need it, so I managed to grad without having to have a level 5
but now, since for some professional career program, I have to go back and do it,
still stuck at level 4.....

It's so embarrassing!!!!  Where I can find a tutor? has to be one-on-one ok!! so 瘀皮同好唔「奮」氣!!!!!

Holy cow you guys, stop whining!!
IT IS JUST A FREAKING EXAM

I got 3 for 1st trial
and 2nd trial for 4
according to this trend......

you can always purchase the stupid study guide, you know
providing that you can afford it

Most of my papers I've done in SFU till now were around B levels...but i didn't pass LPI lv 5 when i took it...

I just did an english course at langara to get away from it....

I took WRIT098 for a few times, it's not helpful (to me).

I did pass the LPI at the end after MANY MANY attempts. But, I did amazingly well for my 1st Eng thou..... so I really don't have any ideas if that LPI can really determine students have good English or not =.="

My tricks: write it in simple sentences. But, be sure to write some compounding sentences as well (with no grammatical errors). If you are not sure if the sentence you are writing has errors or not, just write simple sentences!

use the simplest words.
try to make a sentence as short as possible. (that way you won't have any run-on sentences for sure)
the way that i wrote my lpi essay was so simple that i felt like i was a grade 1 student.. =p i never write any of my other essays like that.

I remembered that you can pay to review your last LPI paper. So you know what's the mistake that you made la. I got my level 5 after that review. Writing 098 isn't useful to me.

AHHHHHHHH!  This is totally my 死穴!
I get 8 or 9 out of 10 for the grammar parts!
Just forever level 4 essay!!!
Sucks!
I tried whatever ways, (since I've done so many times), I used the very structured paragraphs way, I've tried writing as simple as I can, I showed really detailed draft, etc. etc.

I've researched on the internet and I'm so 唔奮氣 and even wanted to go back and take that Writing 098 at UBC.  Just that I don't wanna spend $4xx and 2 nights/week to do it.  I just don't know what my problem is, as they just always give u a score and never let you know what's wrong!  So my only way out is to hire a tutor......(that's what I think)

1st paragraph: intro & your supporting thesis
2nd paragraph: point A & its supporting reasons
3rd paragraph: point B & its suporting reasons
4th paragraph: point C & its supporting reasons
5th paragraph: point D & its supporting reasons
6th paragraph: conclusion/ wrap everything up

Just don't compose any sentences that may sound weird, and don't use any vocabs that you may not know how to spell.

That's how I got my Level 5~

Try to write as simple as you can.  The marker judge by grammatical error not content.
