"paid holiday" is baked into your salary.  If the company was serious, the wage offered should be considered on an hourly basis. Like the teachers can say that they get 2 months of paid holidays in the summer, but their salary is really offered on a 10 month basis.

Both friday and today off. But most friends I know need to work today.

if I am to work today, like what I did last year
it would be treated as OT + the stat pay

Only Quebec treats today as a stat holiday.
