I was wondering if most dentists follow a scheme/standard in how much they charge for certain procedures. e.g. How much they charge for regular cleaning, say 4 units with flouride treatment and no x-ray. Will their prices vary quite a bit? How about the price for children and adult, any difference?

ya, there's a fee guide in every province, but dentists are not obligated to follow it. [why not make more $ when u can?]

Normally for cleaning, exam check up they don't raise price. but for some major work, such as making crowns or dentures, they may raise the price based on the fee guide. eg. if fee guide is let say $300 and they might raise 10% of the fee guide amount. Most clinics won't raise the price bcoz is already expensive enough.

I worked in a dental clinic and you can find those fee guides from public library, but it would not be the current one, only the previous years one.
i see
since you worked in a clinic...do you know if dentists usually charge according the fee guide?
