I don't think QA pay very well... but it'll get your foot into the industry and you'll probably go find better jobs elsewhere after you've gain some exp.
Recruiter is probably the easiest way since you just go for an interview with the recruiting firm and they'll do the rest for you. Recruiter makes money from employer, so it's free for you!
if you want a higher pay and EVEN more comfortable job... take a safety course/certificate and be the safety guy for the lab. I bet you can use your spare time at work to complete a degr ...

yup QC/QA is nice cuz you dont have to think....do the same work every day...some people may find it comfortable...but some may find it extremely boring...
i guess the degree requirement depends on the nature of the company....most QC techs in the company that i worked in (food/pharmaceutical) only have BCIT/college diplomas
