this happens too often...i was at a chinese mall and I was getting tired...and yes, I am obviously very pregnant. this family with about 5 kids/teenagers (all aged from 10+ years) sat on the bench and so did the dad. there was this gap between the dad and one of his kids that could fit an adult..but obviously not enough for a pregnant woman. The kids were purposely not sitting close to each other and so I stood in front of them asking if they could move over...they wouldn't!! then the mom walked out from one of the stores and the dad called the mom over and got the kids to move a bit closer so the mom could sit down. yup, this entire family took over the bench and purposely "saved" a seat for the very abled-bodied mom who was shopping. During this time, me and several seniors were walking around the bench trying to find a seat or to sit down in the gap and they wouldn't let us even when we said "excuse me" and tried to sit down.
it's parents like these who teach kids not to be courteous and we end up with selfish people everywhere...
