Yes I agree its personal preference, and actually as a personal preference I am happy I added my english name, because I use it way more than my chinese name and I want to keep it that way.

I am merely pointing out that MANY minor (yet annoying) technical issues may turn up as a result of a name change, so that you can make a more informed decision.

Changing name is a lot of trouble.  I did a legal name change in the past to add my english name as first name in front of my chinese name (2 words). But I didn't change all my ID and documents at the ...

i'm actually considering adding my Eng name in front of my chinese name but seems so troublesome. However, I think there is a need to do that now because 1/2 of my gov't documents contain my full eng + chinese name, then another 1/2 of the gov't doucments do not. I still don't get how this happened.

so much trouble ah~~ why need to change the last name then?? I dun think it is necessary lor~ if i have kids in the future..i rather bring their birth cert.. easier than change the last name
