最近去richmond pj's pet,見到一隻白色rex 兔女好得意,個staff 話佢大約5個月大,已經住o左o係度3-4個月,仲未有人買佢....
我屋企果隻o野已經4歲,驚買o左新兔返o黎相處唔到...

because selling rabbits at pet store is a bad thing... many people buy rabbits as pets or as presents, impulse buy (esp they are so cheap compared to cats n dogs), and dont have proper knowledge & heart to take care of the rabbits... when they get tired of the buns they "set them free"... rabbits reproduce quickly and it's a problem in richmond now (e.g. minoru park).  and buying from pet store encourages pet store to buy from rabbit breeders, and a lot of breeders are breeding rabbits just for a living, without any heart to care for the rabbits they breed... horrible living conditions, bad for rabbit health. rabbits in pet store is constantly under stress as they are in a noisy and busy environment with strangers walking around and touching them and picking them up everyday, bad food (some pet stores dont give rabbits hay, and most feeds are bad for rabbits but are sold expensively), staff have little or no knowledge to properly take care of rabbits... bad for bunny's health.

so it's a good thing that pet stores stop selling rabbits... people can adopt from rescues if they need to.

Minoru Park... Automall... There are TONS of abandoned rabbits and their babies.

ha... my bunny's mom was bought from a pet store. The pet store told the lady that it was a boy.  When the owner found out that it was actually a girl AND pregnant, she wanted to dump the mom and the babies into the garbage.  The 5 babies were stuffed into a tin can. One of them died. Two died later from sickness cuz they were malnourished.

See how informative and responsible the staff is, and how the "misunderstanding" can jeopardize the lives of these animals.

Don't buy from pet stores.  Some ppl might think that they're "rescuing" the rabbits from the pet stores, but they're actually helping the business.

Visit VRRA or SARS.  There're a lot of healthy and beautiful rabbits!

i dont know where she read the news... maybe i should take some time and look and see if i can actually find an article before i start to celebrate for this
