If exterior latex is what you are talking about, I'm using CIL (in HK or UK it's "ICI"). My doors have been prepped and re-painted 3+ yrs ago, still holding up fine.
Problem typically lies in the "prepping" part, for if it's not prepped right, paint will not stick/adhere properly, and will eventually peel off.
I wouldn't be surprised if the high-end, 2-in-1 exterior latex paint such as CIL diamond, Behr, etc. would work just as well (and stays put) for as long as possible.
I know most painters use Ben moore or sherwin williams but frankly, I think they are all more or less the same.
The only difference is the prep work. The more you prep (sand it down, chemically edging (roughening the old paint coating), the stronger/better the new paint adhesion.
I have painted (cover-over) old paint in my house's exterior for more than 3+yrs now (just regular CIL exterior 2in1 paint), no issues at all.
