We are planning to hire one as well, yes, it is 3 times more expensive compare to HK, and 50% shorter working hour .. and only 2 yr ... but no other choice here ar ma ..
However, what does it do with 香港人 ??? very very few and rare 香港人 hire filipino as nanny wor .. mostly white people do ...

It's the same for other domestic helpers from oversea. Doesn't matter where they are from. I am sure they will try to learn and start a better life here eventually. Don't think anyone will only want to work as domestic helper for the rest of their life and NOT want their family to come over to Canada if they think it's a better place for them too.
