Today, my mom's car was hit by an old Caucasian lady. After she hit our car bumper, she tried to drive away. My mom stopped her and ask for her license etc... The old woman refused and hit my mom's hand. As i walked towards her, she was being so rude. She said "It's only a little scratch, you should look at my door...you should not be stopping here anyways". She gave us the drivers license and we copied down her information. She kept on saying "You chinese people always making such a big fuss about little things". I said "Are you being racist here?". She said "Yes, i'm being racist towards you chinese people, hate you chinese people" very loudly. It was so rude of her.
Some old ladies are so rude... I just want to punch them in the head.
to the OP, she hit your mom's hand? I think she can be sued for that..
she gave your mom unnecessary bodily contact..and even said racial slurs..i think that is considered a hate crime if she did something both verbal and physical
you should report her to the RCMP and file a police report..saying that she tried to run away after a hitting your car then upon confrontation, she caused bodily harm and also discriminated against your race
this is one ugly incident. it is a hate crime. what should people do when this happens? call 911 or what number should they call? and record the her words with the cell phone?
The thing about Canadian justice system is that everyone can sue anyone, it's the amount of time it takes for the suing process. I mean, you can sue someone, but you still need to have evidence to support a case. Verbal racist comments, unless recorded down, it's hard to put up a case.
What do you really want out of the old woman anyways?
Just ignore it, and go straight to ICBC to report the case.
