(星島日報報道)日本多達十多萬人昨日在沖繩縣宜野灣市舉行集會，反對美國在駐沖繩美軍普天間基地部署MV－22「魚鷹」垂直起降運輸機，並要求關閉普天間基地。示威者擔憂美國把沒有安全保證的「魚鷹」機部署到沖繩，一旦墜毀將危及人命。美國計畫於十月在普天間基地部署二十四架魚鷹機，這一戰機在摩洛哥和美國曾多次發生墜毀事故。
