My colleague involved in a car accident on Sep 20 on Kingsway. It was not her fault. An Asian girl drove a Hyundai hit her car. After pulling over and exchanging information, the girl left the scene first. That night the girl called my colleague and asked to settle privately. My colleague said no and prefer reporting to ICBC. Now the girl told ICBC the other way round that my colleague hit her car and she got a witness.
ICBC told my friend that the girl said my colleague left first and someone got out from a restaurant saw everything and willing to be her witness.
Obviously the witness is the girl's friend.
Unfortunately, my colleague did not find a witness as she thought she did not do anything wrong. Now she is in a very disadvantaged situation.
I am wondering how ICBC knows if the witness is legitimate and telling the truth. Any LYK experienced this situation? |
