I have seen many mainlander (can tell by their accent) stocking up formula in Metrotown Superstore...

Well...I got some formula from amazon...I guess if mainlanders flooded here to start stocking up, we still got a choice to order online from the States.

Shoppers want 'American-only' hours at Costco!

NEED TO KNOW
  • U.S. residents complain about influx of Canadians at border Costco
  • Canadians seem hot for two items: Milk and gas
  • How far would you go to snag a good deal?

We’d all do just about anything to save a buck, right? And for Canadians near Bellingham, Washington, that means crossing the border and snagging some pretty great deals at the local Costco. Add the weak American dollar to the store’s awesome prices and there are some deals that are hard to resist.
But American shoppers aren’t too happy about the influx of Canadians in their neighborhood store. They’ve launched a Facebook page with over 3,000 likes so far, calling for their own special time to shop.
Canadians say Americans would be doing the same for similar deals in their country and they're quick to point out that they’re flooding the American economy with money and jobs.
But Americans are complaining about and posting pictures of crowed parking lots, ridiculous lines at the gas station and checkout lines that go halfway down the store.
Video also shows people snatching up gallons of milk as soon as they’re unwrapped from pallets. One commenter calls it “milk madness.” Another suggests putting in a “milk drive thru just for Canadians.”
HLN affiliate KIRO says the store goes through about two semi-trucks of milk each day. It’s a great deal for Canadians who say they’re basically able to get two for the price of one.
The drive for these deal-seekers isn’t so bad, either: the Vancouver suburbs are only about 25 minutes away but others are traveling up to an hour to get to the warehouse club, according to KIRO.
A senior VP for Costco told CBC News that the store isn’t looking to change its policy and a spokesperson says they’d love to expand.
How far would you drive to get a good deal and what items would make it worth the journey?

水貨客 in HK = Resell and make money
Canadian @ US Costco = A real shopper who is looking for cheaper price

水貨客 in HK = messing up the whole damn city in HK, the whole city has milk shortages
Canadian @ US Costco = only affecting a few towns in US, US still has milk to sell.
Vancouver is ______ !

to be honest a lot of people made the assumption that 水貨客=mainlander, which is actually untrue.  A lot of Hong Kong citizens do the same to make profit.  The best policy (luggage limit across the border/ train station) by far is already in place, they just need to really reinforce the rule.  Plan B is to have all milk powder manufacturing company to print 平反六四 on the can, then I bet nothing will get across the border.  Period

    你都幾好笑,有好多美國local家庭或者小商戶都去costco買奶,你住嗰區冇奶就冇得飲冇得做生意㗎啦,唔通bellingham嘅居民會去到加州買奶呀?

I don't think your idea about printing the 平反六四 to those cans would work but your idea is very interesting

Yes, this is just my point. I don't think people in Bellingham will have milk shortages problem. They just don't like to see so many Canadian shopping at their town.

But in HK situation, you can't find a can of milk for their hungry babies. If you are a parent, you will understand how important to have enough milk at home all the time.
