This is a complicated topic again, and I don’t know where to start.
1) The advance of 社會生産力relies on advance in technologies which drives the development of the society.
2) The military strength also relies on the advance in technologies which a country relies on to obtain new natural resources (the backbone of the economy) and protect the resources it already got. (what would you think about the reasons why the historical empires had been so hungry to expand their lands and colonies?)
Back to aerospace program again, I have hard time to understand why people believe it is a waste of money.
1) The practical application – communication, environment and military. If China and US were at war, US’s missile can easily target our bedroom, why? It has GPS system. Can China use US’s GPS system?
2) While we are still trying to find new iron mine on earth, US already builds up its Auto Plans on moon.
3) While thousands of our people lost their lives because of swine flue, US already mass production its flue shots in its space lab.
