[其他飲食] HK style BBQ??

I was wondering if there's anywhere in BC or Richmond that allows u to hv an open fire like a HK style BBQ?
Cuz I've done it twice before, once in front of my church and once at Deas Island~

garry point?

Yes, you could do that at Garry point.  We did it there before but it is quite windy there.

Almost every park that doesn't have a fire ban, you could do BBQ there.  Just that local people prefer to bring their propane burner, while we here like to do the HK style.

Anyhow, please respect the environment whenever you were out there.

You can BBQ at most parks, however, if you want to do Hong Kong style BBQ,
you'll have to look for real charcoal or mesquite, not the briquettes made with tire by-product

Made by tire by-product....  OMG.

Where to buy those real charcoal then?  We used to use the CanadaTire (if I remember) charcoal which are very light and just like those they sell in HK.  Not many places sold those kind of charcoal.

Kingsford is the company created "briquette for BBQ",  a sub-division of Ford Motors,
after they ended up with too much old tires.
Good real charcoal  could be found at outdoor supplies, and some Chinese BBQ  & hotpot meat (uncooked) shops. The mesquite from Mexico is good, the flame temperature is much higher and long lasting, the only drawback is that it has a significant smoky note, which is  appreciated by Caucasians.

Yeh cuz my frd said u r actually not allow to hv an open fire BBQ by law...~

I think last time we used the normal small round grills and we took the metal rack out and out charcoal in it to create an open fire..~

I like the HK style BBQ much better...everybody can sit and chat and not just 1 person cook...
And honestly it doesn't taste as good~ And the atmosphere is just not the same..~

Yes, you can't do BBQ when there is a fire ban.  Each city has their by-law and you should check that, of course.  They will define what's an open fire means.

e.g.  a region in BC interior use this for fire ban:
A Category 1 open fire means an open fire that burns piled material no larger than one metre high and one metre wide.
A Category 2 open fire means an open fire that burns piled material no larger than two metres high and three metres wide, or grass over an area less than 0.2 hectares (2000 square metres) in size.
