I also know a friend rather pay $1700 rent for a 2 bedroom apartment in Yaletown (before he got married). And I'm sure he got plenty of $$ for down payment. Just like "Big C"'s example he likes to use his cash to invest some where else.
But after he's married, then he bought a house (need bigger space for his baby I guess). So if a person do decided to have family and kids, perhaps it's better reason to buy than rent (if one can afford)? |
